Privacy Policy

Kantan JLPT ("the app", "we") is a study app for the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test. We built it to collect as little about you as possible. This policy explains what the app stores, what leaves your device, and the choices you have.
No account required
You can use the app without creating an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or location.
Data stored on your device
The app keeps the following on your device only:
- Your study progress: review schedule, answers, scores and mistake notebook.
- Your settings, such as target level, daily goal and furigana preference.
- Mistake reports you write about a question, until a version of the app that can send them exists.
This data is not sent to us. Deleting the app deletes it. Audio pronunciation uses your device's built-in text-to-speech.
Purchases
Premium is sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Apple or Google processes your payment; we never see your card details. To check whether you have Premium and to let you restore it, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase receipts, your device type and operating system version, and your country or currency. It does not receive your name or email address from us. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Advertising, analytics and tracking
The app does not show ads to Premium users, does not use advertising identifiers, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not sell or share your personal data.
This website
www.kantanjlpt.com is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request data such as your IP address to deliver the page and protect against abuse. The website uses no cookies and no analytics.
Children
The app is meant for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
Because your study data stays on your device, you control it: you can reset progress in the app or delete the app. For purchase data held by RevenueCat, or any other privacy question, email us and we will help, including with access or deletion requests under laws such as the GDPR.
Changes
If the app starts collecting new data, we will update this page and the date at the top before that version is released.
